It’s Time To Get Active!
To lose body fat you must create a daily, weekly, and monthly calorie deficit. This can be achieved through diet, exercise or both!
Getting active (increasing steps and exercise) increases your calorie expenditure. What does this mean? It means that you can eat more food to lose body fat (winner!).
Reducing calorie intake is important for body fat loss. Whilst you need a specific balance of calories in vs calories out to consume the vitamins, minerals and macronutrients you need to live healthily, managing your portion sizes are going to be vital for your long term change. We show you how!
How can I increase my energy expenditure?
Increasing your amount of exercise by one session per week
Doing more walking
Taking the stairs instead of lifts
Stand up desks instead of seated
How many calories should I be eating?
Our Nutritionists will help you with this in our groups. In short, you need to calculate your basal metabolic rate and use a calculator to add your activity levels above this. You then need to subtract 500kcal to lose 1lb of body fat per week of body fat!
If you’re unsure on how to manage calories in vs calories out, come along to our sessions which are £10 per week!
Time to get moving!
